adidas and Flocasts provide rare footage of Marathon World Record Holder Haile Gebrselassie in his home country of Ethiopia

In the world of running Haile Gebrselassie is a living legend. At home in Ethiopia, Gebrselassie is more than a legendary runner, he is a businessman, a politician, and some would say, a saint. On November 7th, at the age of 37, Gebrselassie will attempt his first NYC Marathon. It may be Gebrselassie's last marathon. In preparation for NYC, adidas has given access to Flocasts to film Gebrselassie in his native country of Ethiopia to produce rare footage of the legend Gebrselassie on and off the track.
Gebrselassie's list of achievements are long: 27 world record performances and numerous Olympic and World Championship titles. At the age of 35, he won the Berlin Marathon with a world record time of 2:03:59, breaking his own world record by 27 seconds. While he is most well known in the marathon, his career includes major competition wins at distances between 1500 meters and the marathon, moving from outdoor, indoor and cross country running to road running in the latter part of his career.
Gebrselassie's legendary performances on the track parallel his humanitarian contributions off the track. Gebrselassie is a true businessman and every bit of his winnings have been invested significantly improving Ethiopia. He owns the majority of the buildings in Ethiopian Capital City Addis Abada and employs over 600 workers.
